privacy policy
We have created this privacy policy to demonstrate our firm commitment to your privacy and the protection of your information.

At Touch the Past, your privacy is as important to us as it is to you. That's why we stand behind our privacy policy 100%. It's as significant as the the superb customer service we offer you and the values under which we operate as a company.

We encourage you to take the time to read our privacy policy. We've worded it as straight forwardly as possible (no legal mumbo-jumbo to confuse you). And if you have any questions or concerns please contact our Privacy Officer (Questions? Contact Us!).

Why is your Privacy so important?
Because it's the law. In Canada, there are rules on how companies collect, use and disclose your personal information while doing business.

How do we collect information from you?
Simply put, we collect information from you when:
You call us on the phone
You send us questions via e-mail
You fill out a job application form or send us your resume
You provide us with feedback and comments (which we really appreciate)
You complete one of our requests for quotations
It's supplied to us by a third party (such as credit agencies)

Usually, the information collected is quite basic, like your name, address, phone number and e-mail address. Other times it will be more detailed, such as when you apply for a job with us. In any case, all information collected from you or about you is treated the same under our privacy policy.

Do we collect information in other ways?
You bet. Our web site collects information that is not personally identifiable back to you when you visit us on the web. We collect information such as your Internet Protocol (IP) address, the pages you've clicked on and other "clickstream" data. We also use "cookies" to collect non-personal information. A cookie contains a small piece of information that our web site stores on your computer. Each time you visit us online, your browser sends the information back to our site. We do this to improve your experience on our site and to customize pages of interest to you when you visit us again.

Why do we collect your information?
You are the reason we are here and we are here to serve you. We collect and use your information to help us do our job the best we can. And that means making sure we have the right products and services you need to do your job the best you can.

How do we use your information?
So what exactly are we doing with your info? Lots of good stuff:
We respond to your requests
We use it to help with our marketing analysis
We send you information on our latest and greatest promos, products and services
We improve our web site, store your preferences and identify you when you log onto our site
And for any other purposes, we'll let you know about it beforehand

How are we protecting your information?
For paper-based information we have policies and procedures in place to safeguard your information. On our web site, pages that transmit personal or confidential information are secured using Secure Socket Layers (SSL) encryption technology (128 bit). And once your information reaches our network, it's still secure because we use firewalls. Finally, any information that is no longer useful to us will be completely destroyed.

Although no system is 100% infallible, we have implemented all the latest security measures known to us to ensure all your information is safe and secure. This includes antivirus software and firewall technology.

Do we sell or share your information with 3rd parties?
We will NEVER sell your information to 3rd parties. Ever. Period. When it comes to sharing your information there are only a handful of situations where we would do that:
It's required by law
We need to disclose it to a successor company
We have hired reputable 3rd parties to help us with our work. This would include marketing companies and independent contractors. And don't worry, we make sure they understand our privacy policy and are bound to it as well.

Your Choices
If you don't want to receive certain communications from us anymore, that's okay, we totally understand. Or if you want to see, correct, update or delete your personal information, no problem. In all cases, just contact our Privacy Officer (see Questions?) and we'll happily oblige, no questions asked.

Updates
We reserve the right to update and change this policy at any time by posting revisions at this site. This however, does not change any of your information you may have given to us before that revision. If you would like to receive e-mail notices telling you when we've made a change, please send us an e-mail, otherwise check back to this site on a regular basis to see updates.

Consent
By accessing this web site you agree to the terms of this privacy policy. If you don't agree to these terms, please notify us in writing telling us you don't agree with this policy and that you wish to opt out of it in its entirety or a part of it. See our Questions?
